Hi all! So, 2020 is obviously not going at all how anyone expected! We’re over halfway through this strange year at this point, so I thought it would be great to talk about the upcoming 2020 releases that I’m excited for! Books have been one of my main escapes while stuck at home these past few months, so I’m counting on these releases to carry me through the rest of 2020 (and perhaps even beyond!) I’ve organized them in release date order for convenience.
1. Midnight Sun – Stephanie Meyer – 8/4/20
Okay, who isn’t excited for Midnight Sun? I was a huge Twi-hard back in the day, so I can’t wait! Luckily it comes out tomorrow!
2. Star Daughter – Shveta Thakrar – 8/11/20
I’m pretty sure I’ll be getting this book in at least one book subscription box. The cover is stunning and I’m excited to read this #ownvoices tale.
3. Raybearer – Jordan Ifueko – 8/18/20
I am soooooooo excited for Raybearer. I got approved for the arc and audiobook on Netgalley, plus I’m on a bookstagram tour for it! Expect a review soon, perhaps on release day!
4. Iron Heart – Nina Varela – 9/8/20
Iron Heart is the sequel to Crier’s War, which was actually included in an Owlcrate last year. I’m very excited to see what comes next!
5. A Golden Fury – Samantha Cohoe – 10/13/20
I haven’t heard too much buzz about this one, but the mix of a photographic and illustrated cover drew me in, and the synopsis made me want it even more.
6. Kingdom of the Wicked – Kerri Maniscalco – 10/27/20
I didn’t care very much for the SJTR series, but the synopsis of Kingdom of the Wicked sounds quite interesting and I actually have two special edition copies coming in October!
7. Warmaidens – Kelly Coon – 10/20/20
I read Gravemaidens last year and loved it! I can’t wait to finish this duology and get the awesome preorder goodies!
8. The Betrayals – Bridget Collins – 11/12/20
This book is written by Bridget Collins, who wrote The Binding. I’m currently reading The Binding and it’s completely beautiful. I can’t wait to get this book, and I hope the story is just as stunning as the cover.
9. Ruinsong – Julia Ember – 11/24/20
The premise to this book really interests me! Also fun fact: I met the author completely by accident at Bookcon 2016! She was signing copies of her book Unicorn Tracks and my friend and I just happened to walk up to her and get a free copy! I’m excited to see how her writing has improved over the years.
10. How the King of Elfhame Learned to Hate Stories – Holly Black – 11/24/20
This should come as no surprise to you. I love Holly Black’s books. I’ve got two copies of this coming my way, because I have to complete my regular (white) and B&N exclusive (black) edition sets.
Thanks for reading! What books are you excited to read in the latter half of 2020? Let me know in the comments!
