Hi all! Last week, Fairyloot announced both their April and May themes as part of their Fairy Reveal Week! I couldn’t resist writing up a post for both of these announcements, which will hopefully help you analyze the boxes and determine if you want to get one – or both!
As usual, all of the opinions in this post are my own, so please take them with a grain of salt, and don’t be offended if my least favorite fandom is your favorite. We all have our own preferences. 🙂
SPOILER ALERT! These posts will name the included book of the month, which often isn’t announced in advance. Please don’t continue to read if you want to be surprised by the book.

My Thoughts
Ok, I’m just going to start by saying that the theme art for this box is gorgeous! Obviously, one does not buy a subscription box simply because of the theme art, but I couldn’t not acknowledge it.
The book this month is The Prison Healer by Lynette Noni, which sounds quite interesting. (Check out the book on Goodreads here!) I recently got approved for an arc on Netgalley, but I haven’t gotten around to reading it just yet. I’ll definitely get around to reading it soon, and I’ll try to make sure to update this post with my thoughts, or at least a link to my review) when I’m done, as my opinions on the book will definitely influence if I personally get the box. As of right now, I really like the sound of it and am excited to dive in.
The physical book itself will be getting some pretty awesome exclusive customizations from Fairyloot, which is definitely exciting. I’m really hoping that given the flowers on both the theme art and the original cover, we’ll be getting some beautiful floral sprayed edges again, like the ones we got on the Kingdom of the Wicked book from their October Box. Fairyloot has really been killing it lately with their exclusive customizations, so I’m very excited to see what they’ve come up with for this edition!
Now, let’s look at the fandoms and items that we’ll see in the box. They’ve already announced a foiled bookmark set inspired by the following fandoms: An Ember in the Ashes, The Poppy War and Blood Heir. I’m not really into those fandoms, so that doesn’t really do much for me, but I’m sure that some people would be very excited, especially considering that Fairyloot’s exclusive set of the Ember in the Ashes series just shipped out recently.
I’m a bit wary that no artists have been announced yet for the other fandoms, which I’m much more interested in. I’m hoping that there will be some hints or reveals dropped in the coming weeks. Apparently there will be an item that Fairyloot has never included before, which is always fun to speculate about. They’ve included a lot of items over the years, from simple bookmarks to the gorgeous secret boxes to edible items, so it’s kind of hard to brainstorm what it could be. I just hope that this new item is well received by the subscribers!
In conclusion, this box does sound pretty good, just based on the book alone. I’m still wary about the items and hope that we’ll get another reveal soon, but in the meantime, I am considering getting this box in April. It’s all going to depend on my opinion of the arc I’ve received, so stay tuned for my review and updated post in the coming weeks.
