My 2020 Bookish Resolutions

Happy New Year! 2020 (aka the year when I graduate from college and have to get an actual adult job ahhhh) is here, and with it, I have some new bookish resolutions/goals that I’d like to set for myself!

1. I will read 52 books

I’ve definitely read more than 52 books a year in the past few years, but given that I’m going to be busy with my final semester and my job hunt, I want to be reasonable about my reading goal for this year. One book a week seems fair. If anything, I can always increase it if I find I have more free time to read!

2. I won’t buy new books without getting rid of some old ones

I’ve managed to acquire an impressive amount of books over the past few decade, especially because I frequently shop at rummage sales and thrift shops. However, this also means that I’ve ended up with a fair amount of books that don’t quite mean as much to me as others and are taking up precious shelf room. Because of this, I’ve made it a goal for myself that I will donate or sell old books before I bring new ones it. If it doesn’t spark joy, it’s got to go!

3. I will post monthly TBR and wrap up posts

I honestly don’t know how much people care about my monthly TBR or a recap of what I managed to read in a month, but I’d like to post them just to keep myself accountable! I also started using my Owlcrate reading planner, so hopefully that will help me keep track of my monthly reading. Stay tuned for those posts!

4. I will post more in general

Whenever schoolwork gets hectic, my blog and bookstagram (and my mental health, but we’re not talking about that here 😅) are always the first things to suffer! Most of my posts in the latter half of 2019 were blog tour posts, which had to be posted on a certain date. While I still plan on participating in blog tours in 2020, I want to diversify my blog content beyond reviews and wrap ups. Maybe more bookish tags, articles, brand reviews, and interviews? Who knows!

5. I will be more true to myself

This isn’t to say that I haven’t been true to myself or to my readers in the past. However, I will admit that the overall tone/voice of my blog posts hasn’t exactly matched my personality, and I haven’t been completely happy with my style of reviewing lately. I really want to refocus my creative energies to create posts that stand out and really represent me.
