Book Review
*I recieved an e-arc of this book on Netgalley via the publisher in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.*
In the past, I’ve loved reading these quick, humorous graphic novels published by Andrews McMeel Publishing! My love continues with this book, which contains 24 true tales of medical incidents! As someone who’s undergone her own medical emergencies and has sense developed a nearly unhealthy obsession with medical drama shows, this book was right up my alley.
If you’ve ever seen web comics by The Awkward Yeti, aka Nick Seluk,, particularly The Heart and Brain series, you have an idea of what you’re getting into. Seluk’s cute, simple art style of the organs and his comedic style help to diffuse the seriousness of some of these medical cases and keep them light and easy to read.
Each of the 24 sections are fairly short, which makes it easy to read a quick story and then set the book down, or to just binge it all in one sitting, as I did. While it’s not a book I think I’ll revisit too often, I think that this would make a great gift for a friend working in the medical field, for a med student, or for someone like me who’s just obsessed with weird medical cases!
I’d give this book 5/5 shining stars for being a fun, quick read that’s perfect for giving as a gift! The book comes out on March 24th, so if you want to give it to a pre-med or med student, it will be out in time for graduation!!!
Thanks for reading!!!

I’m interested reading this book, it’s nice to have some light reading material in my life occasionally. I hope the library gets a copy though because it doesn’t seem like something I would by. Are there any other graphic novels from this publishing company you’d recommend to me? 🙂
