Hello everyone, and happy October! It’s time for scary, spooky things and what’s more scary than stepping outside of your comfort zone? This month, I plan on doing just that by reading books that are outside of my comfort zone. I’ve noticed lately that I gravitate toward a lot of YA Fantasy, novels specifically novels told in 1st person POV. While it’s fine to have preferences, I want to branch out and try new things, so here’s my October TBR! (Of course, some things will still fit my preferences because of upcoming blog tours!)
1. House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski

This one is technically for a school project, but I’ve actually always wanted to read House of Leaves. I’ve heard good things about this weird book, and after flipping through it, I honestly have no idea what to expect. It’s definitely not my normal read.
2. The Bone Houses by Emily Lloyd-Jones

I received a copy of the Bone Houses in my September Owlcrate, and while it is the typical dark fantasy novel I normally would read, it’s told in 3rd person POV, which I’m trying to appreciate more and more in my writing. I think this will serve as a good transition into my challenge.
3. The Memory Thief by Lauren Mansy

I’m participating in a blog tour for this book, so be on the look out for my review coming soon! I’m really in love with the cover, and I’m hoping that the story is just as compelling! It’s also told from 3rd Person POV, which makes it fit my challenge.
4. Tarnished Are The Stars by Rosiee Thor

This one is also for another blog tour. I’m not sure what POV it’s written from as I haven’t received my copy yet, but no matter what, I’m very excited to read it. Also, look at that cover!
5. Conceal, Don’t Feel: A Twisted Tale by Jen Calonita

Lastly, this book just came out today, and I’ll be participating in a blog tour for it tomorrow, so be on the lookout for the spotlight post! It’s definitely not my usual style, but I’ve always loved Disney movies so these twisted tales really appeal to me!
That’s about it! I usually read a lot more, but October is promising to be a busy month for me, so I wanted to keep my TBR short. We’ll see what else I read at the end of the month!

Ooh, this looks like a great TBR! The Bone Houses has really piqued my interest. I can’t wait to see your thoughts on all of these!💜
