It seems like there’s a subscription box for everything these days, from makeup to pop culture items to books! Book subscription boxes are a great way to get new books and other bookish items like bookmarks, candles, pillowcases and other interesting things!
Here are 4 book boxes that I’d like to try someday!
Shelflove Crate is all about YA Sci-fi and Fantasy! If those genres don’t interest you, there’s also their sister site, Shelflove Reads, which focuses on more general YA reads. I’m more interested in Shelflove Crate, but both boxes are great options with cool items.
I’m very excited for Shelflove Crate’s September theme! It’s “Life in the Shadows” and I’m pretty sure I know what the book will be! (No spoilers though!) I’m definitely going to order their box as soon as I can.
Beacon Book Box is such an adorable company! It’s run by a family and a few friends, and was actually started by a 14-year-old!
Their September theme is “United Rivalries”, and looks quite promising! I’m definitely going to buy one!
I was actually selected to be a Box Assistant for this company. I don’t get a box, but I still have a discount code for you all! Use my code STARLIGHT10 for 10% off your order!
3. FairyLoot
FairyLoot is all about YA fantasy!
I actually really love the box that the items come in. It’s pretty simple, but I love their whimsical logo! I’ve seen quite a few unboxing photos and videos of FairyLoot, and their boxes never disappoint!
Their next theme is Starcrossed Swoons. I’m pretty certain of the book in this one, but I’ll have to wait and see. I won’t be buying it because I already have an ARC, but I’m sure it’ll be a great box!
4. OwlCrate
Ahh, Owlcrate, the OG! This was the first book box I heard of, back in 2016 when I went to BookCon in Chicago. I remember seeing their booth while I was waiting in a signing line, but I didn’t have time to visit them that day!
One thing that’s really cool about OwlCrate is that they have another version of the box targeted at children aged 8-12! While I’m not in that demographic and wouldn’t buy that box, I think it makes for such an exciting gift for kids who love reading!
Their next theme is “Masters of Disguise” and again, I’m pretty sure I know what the book is (I think it’s the same as the FairyLoot book!) I already have an ARC of it, so I’ll probably pass on the box, but I’m sure it’s going to be amazing!
I actually ordered the August Box, “Ruthless Royals!” It should be arriving soon!
I’m so excited to get my first ever book boxes! I can’t really buy them too often because I’m your typical college student (AKA not swimming in money) but I’m ready to make an exception in September, and hopefully I’ll be able to try out other book boxes in the future! I’ve heard of others that sound really interesting.
Thanks for reading! Stay tuned for some unboxings both here and on my Instagram very soon!
